Annotations: A Collaborative Performance Event

Annotations: A Collaborative Performance Event

Monday, April 22, 2013, 4pm – 6pm

The Flaxman Library Special Collections and the Department of Sound invite you to join us for the third in our series of collaborative events. For this installment, we took the musical score as a starting point from which to consider the possibilities of interpretation and translation. Throughout this semester, MFA Sound students have been exploring the range of scores, instruction pieces, and scenario works held in the Joan Flasch Artists Book Collection, and each artist or pair has selected one work to interpret and which will be performed live in the Special Collections Reading Room. By bringing these artists into conversation with works from the collection, we look forward to seeing the ways that what originates on the page extends into the space of performance.
